A surprising discovery: Doves with pink legs?
Just imagine my surprise when Mom informed me about this! We were standing outside the exit of the airport when she suddenly exclaimed, "These doves are so very pretty! They have pink legs!" This was my surprise as I echoed back, "Pink legs?" She said yes.
I guess that I probably never had enough vision to see what doves really looked like but when she told me that they had pink legs then I had to stop and think and then to create a new picture in my mind.
Doves with pink legs! How very new to me and just another picture for me to keep in my already cluttered and over-loaded memory bank.

A refreshing experience: Description of a new building
It is always very interesting to me whenever I am in a situation where I ask someone to describe a new building to me. Of course, a picture is worth a thousand words and this means that no two persons would ever describe a building in exactly the same way.
This is what happened in September 2017 when I attended a conference in Ottawa and I had the luxury of having several persons describe a building to me. I knew from the outset that this would happen so I was ready.
I took all of the descriptions and went to work to take a piece from here and one from there and by the time I was finished I was able to put together a reasonable picture for myself.

A new experience: When the bank changed
It was quite an experience for me when, in the late spring of 2017, the Royal Bank branch at the Bridlewood Mall began renovating its facilities. For so many years I had been used to the layout, so when I was told what was happening I had to develop a new way to navigate my favorite branch.
I had always been able to visualize this branch's facilities because I had been able to see what it looked like when I had enough vision. Now it would be different and I would need to depend on others to describe things to me.
My mom and my friends, Sue and Gabriella, have done a masterful job at filling me in and the staff have been so good at helping me out. However, it is not quite the same when someone else describes things to you.
Remember now, a picture is worth a thousand words and no two people describe things to you in the same way.
