Mastering the technique: Opening the wine bottle

I have come to master this very interesting task.  First, I take my time at doing it.  I meticulously line up my bottle and then I place the opener around it.  That is, to make sure that the opener is correctly placed on the cork.

Then I proceed to slowly turn my opener.  Easy does it and when I am done my wine bottle is opened and ready for me to pour my wine.

Getting nice and comfy

 There is nothing better than being able to get nice and comfy on a cold evening during the Christmas holiday season!  When the wind is banging against the windows, snow is softly falling outside, and there is a warm crackling fire just waiting for you to come close.

You slip on a nice warm pair of socks, gather your favourite drink along with some Christmas cookies and then you find your favourite comfy chair and draw near to the fire.

Ah, yes!  Just smell that crackling fire burning!  Listen to it crackling, and now you are ready to just sit and either read a book or turn on your TV and switch to one of your favourite channels that is about to show a Christmas movie.  Or maybe it will be a Christmas show.

Whatever it is, it is time to just kick back and forget about all of the bad news going on around you!  Time to take some time for yourself!  To just relax, recharge, and refresh!  Time for you to say to yourself,  “Well done” and now it is time to reward yourself for a year where you have worked hard to help make this world a bit better.

So now, just kick back and enjoy this evening!  Watch the flames dance in front of you and savour your hot drink and Christmas cookies!

Cherishing a hot drink

 

This is probably a typical Canadian Christmas holiday activity!  Just to sit and enjoy that yummy Christmas hot drink!  Just to smell it, taste it, and place one’s hands around a warm to hot mug!

So many different types of drinks to enjoy, from the non alcoholic to the alcoholic!  Tea and hot chocolate to warm cider and eggnog!  And let us not forget the various types of coffee drinks, various types of tea, and those homemade drinks where we get to use our imaginations to create our own.

Ah, yes, and as we drink we see the Christmas lights wink and blink in the background with a Canadian flag thrown in for good measure!

Hot drinks for Christmas

 

 Ah, yes!  Those delicious hot Christmas drinks!  Hot, tasty, flavourful, and so much more.  So fragrant, and just the thing to go along with some Christmas cookies and other goodies.  Just the thing to sip slowly before going off to bed.  Or even taking it to bed with me.

This is what it is all about!  Hot drinks on a cold winter's night while sitting and listening to the winds banging against the windows of my house.  Hot drinks!  Sitting at my kitchen table on a quiet night with my hands wrapped around my mug!  Hot drinks!  Relaxing on my couch with the TV turned low and my sweet-smelling drink in my hand!  

Ah, yes!  Wonderful moments for a lifetime!  Not even Covid could deprive me of this!
