Filled with energy: Tyler at blind tennis

He is exciting and he is refreshing!  And he is just what we need for our blind tennis sessions.

Tyler is so very helpful and oh so enthusiastic. He is observant and always ready to participate, either as a player or as a ball boy!  He is just nine years old but he has a lot to teach others!

It's good to be back! Back to blind tennis

It is so very good to be going back to playing blind tennis. Over the past few years I have been extremely lax and remiss in keeping up with this wonderful game, but in the fall of 2019 I promised myself to make a better effort to do so.

I am extremely grateful to Alan Ma for having started blind tennis in Toronto in 2012 and, as things stand today, blind tennis is still going on but with much fewer players than before.

Alan’s volunteers have been so dedicated and I want to thank them for having stayed the course. Now we need to give our support to Jerome as Alan’s replacement.

Concentrating on my tennis

It is time for me to start concentrating more on my tennis.  I have been away for a bit too long and I sure miss it.

It is actually called Blind Tennis and we play with balls that are filled with bells.  The balls are made of sponge and are very light weight.  They bounce around a lot and one needs to get used to all of this.

Concentration is paramount if one really wants to have a good game.  Alan Ma, the man in charge who has been running this since 2010, is simply a very terrific person with the utmost of patience and a great willingness to ensure that everything goes right.

I started out going every week but over time I slacked off and now I need to return to this.  I sure miss it but will do my best to keep up in future.
