Forever in my memory! A visit to the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima

This was my main reason for having visited Portugal at the end of May, 2022, and it is a visit that I shall never forget.  And why?  Because I had a very special encounter with Our Lady of Fatima!

For those who will understand and believe:  I traveled two hours to get to this very special and wonderful Shrine. I was just getting over a bout of the stomach flu but nothing was going to stop me on this day before I was scheduled to depart Portugal!

My wonderful cab driver drove me effortlessly to the Shrine and when we got there we walked around and then attended an outdoor Mass and it was while I was sitting quietly waiting for Mass to begin that I experienced my never-to-be-forgotten encounter with Our Lady of Fatima.

I felt someone put their arms around my shoulder and then bury their face in my hair.  The feeling was ever so gentle and lasted for a few seconds.  There was no special fragrance, just that someone was standing behind me with their arms around my shoulders and their face buried in my hair.

I checked with my cab driver to be sure that no one had physically done it but the entire experience did not dawn on me until I was back in the cab heading to the hotel.

My cab driver was simply wonderful.  She and I had a yummy Portuguese lunch on the way back to the hotel and she took me to a factory where I bought a Prayer Book of the Rosary for Mom, a ceramic ornament of Our Lady with the 3 Children, and a Portuguese ceramic doll.

What a wonderful trip and a memory forever! Thank you Jesus for having enabled me to visit this very special Shrine.
