Another way to double check: Counting the notes

In order to ensure that I have received the correct number of notes when I visit the bank, I need to carefully count them to ensure that all is well.  In addition, I need to ensure that the notes do not stick together.  At the best of times, they do indeed stick together.

So, here is what I do!  I sit quietly.  Then I remove my notes from the envelope that contains them.  Then very slowly and meticulously, I begin my counting.  I make sure that my full attention is on this task and nothing else, for one misstep and I would have to return to the beginning and start all over again.

I do not think that this process is any different, whether or not one is sighted or vision-impaired.  The trick of the trade is all about devoting full attention.
