Hats off to me! A childhood dream realized at last

As a child I aspired to be one and as a teen I carried the torch forward only to stop short when I entered university in Montreal.  I can only say that as a blind/vision-impaired person, the world around me was not ready to give me the chance to become a lawyer at that time.

In those days, most aspiring students at university had to find creative and innovative ways to keep up with class lectures, read texts, and work with professors to study for exams, hand in term papers and so much more.  In short, the term accessibility did not exist and alternate texts were few and far between.

I was always so very sorry that I did not get the chance to become a lawyer in those days but, as they say, nothing before its time. Then came December 14, 2021!

On that memorable evening I received the good news from  my dear friend Sam and then it was time to share with my precious mom.  We both shouted for joy!  We danced around her kitchen and she hugged me so tightly and kissed me!

Oh, boy!  A childhood dream come true finally and I thank God!  To my mom, my family, friends, and professors!  Thank you, thank you!
