When I started this new initiative in May, 2021, I really did not know what to expect. I took the first plunge to create an audience by providing them with weekly tips and asking them to share their feedback and suggestions. Bingo, and I was off to the races, so to speak!
I am so very excited to report that many readers have not been shy to share their thoughts and suggestions and, with over 25 thousand followers as my audience, I am very grateful that I started this initiative.
This audience is so very willing to share. So very willing to suggest, comment and give feedback. My audience does not seem to have any borders. From Canada to the United States and from England to Europe, I feel so very grateful and very much on top of the world.
Thank you to my many supporters!

A new and exciting initiative! Sight-loss coaching

He was my hero: Apple, here we come
I have always considered the late Steve Jobs to be one of my role models! His creativity, innovation, and imagination have always managed to capture and hold my attention.
Steve Jobs is responsible for having opened so many doors of opportunity for me; especially those that almost always seemed to be slammed shut to me. It is because of him that my whole world of possibility has changed in a big way and now I have a chance to make things better than possible.
Apple is giving me a chance to do this because of an opportunity for me to work with them to encourage and show their consultants how to include accessibility and inclusivity into their presentation content. I'll have a great chance to show over 300 consultants how they can use the above to create benefits, expand their customer base and increase their bottom lines. Apple, here I come!

How I long to see you again! Where are you, my sweet St Lucia
So many memories for me to cherish and I can only look forward to creating many more of these as soon as the pandemic enables me to go back to a new normalcy.
My sweet Saint Lucia! Warm, friendly and welcoming. All of those sweet Saint Lucians, melodious music, and yummy cuisine. Lazy days simply enjoying and lapping up everything around me. Fresh air and sandy beaches! Gentle ocean seas for me to frolic in. Birds to treasure and oh, so much more!
Juicy fruits, blue skies with milky white clouds floating lazily by and doing nothing but simply taking advantage of so much being offered. Yes, my sweet Saint Lucia and how much I yearn for you! I'll be there as soon as I can travel! I know that you're not going anywhere, just waiting for me to arrive!

Times to appreciate: In the backyard with Pearl and Lucy
I truly enjoyed this particular day and as I sat with Pearl and Lucy in Pearl's backyard, I could not help but thank God for giving me the chance to enjoy such good company.
The food was great, the ladies were wonderful, and the good-natured banter was simply very enjoyable.
Pearl and Lucy made me feel like one of them and never made me feel any different because of being blind/vision-impaired. Lucy asked several typical questions of me but I certainly did not mind.
Then, after we had drank our cups of tea, I played Pearl's baby grand piano for a while before she drove me home.

Not so humorous after all: When the baked beans ran away
It is the only way that I can describe this particular episode. Yes, they ran away on me and I only found out when I came across a small puddle of them on the shelf of my fridge.
Suffice it to say that I had inadvertently dropped the container of beans on the floor and did not check the bottom of the container when I picked it up. In short, the bottom had split and when I put the beans back in the fridge it had naturally begun to leak.
This could happen to anyone: blind, vision-impaired or mainstream. Ah, yes! Just another episode in my daily life.

Familiarizing again: Reacquainting with my closet
I knew that this chore would come my way as soon as the pandemic allowed us to go out again. Sure enough, it was quite a chore but good thing I had organized with Mom's assistance long before the pandemic descended.
What I needed to do was to re-familiarize myself with the arrangement of my clothes and to remember the colours. Thank God that I had my trusty colour detector to help me out. Above all, it was a huge help to have had everything arranged in a semblance of order that I could easily decipher and re-familiarize myself with.

Reflections: Memories of a carnival
I am not really sure how much I actually enjoyed carnival time. I always found it to be very noisy and confusing and not much in it for me as I could not really appreciate the costumes as a blind/vision-impaired child.
Yet, I remember the sweet songs and sounds of the steel drums. The holidays that we were given from school and our spending these at the beach.
There is one memory that stands out, however. This being the carnival queen show on the Sunday evening before carnival Monday. Here I will always remember how well the announcers described the costumes being worn by the contestants. My Mom and Granny and I would sit and listen to the show on the radio because there was no TV coverage. I truly enjoyed listening to the descriptions.

School days! Memories of my primary school
More childhood memories for me to cherish and treasure and to keep alive in my memory bank forever.
Ah, yes, having such fun in our school's playground running up and down the hill and swinging precariously on the jungle gym. Practicing for sports day. Swimming in the pool. Walking around and around the roundabout outside.
Then, the football and cricket and other ball games that we played in the corridors and using the drains to help us play ball. The drains helped us to keep track of the balls so that we did not lose them. Then there were the swings where we swung as high as we could. Then the glen where we ran down the hill, picked oranges and grapefruits, and learned about nature.
Such great memories, picking cherries and searching for almonds among the grass. Then we would sit quietly outside on those happy days when our teachers would allow us to explore shapes of birds nests, flowers, and so much more.
Finally, our trips to the rivers where we listened to the flowing water, searched for pebbles and stones, and walked in the shallow part of the river. Memories for a lifetime.

Looking back! Memories of the botanical gardens
These are such cherished memories for me and especially so as they relate to when I was growing up with very limited vision/sight.
My family used to visit these lush and wonderful gardens so regularly. My brothers and cousins and I would frolic and play on the green grass, chase our dog Yeller around, and play ball and ride our scooter along the paths.
Then we would spend quiet time sitting on the benches, listening to the birds in the trees, and smelling the fragrant flowers. Such wonderful memories, loving moments and cherished days.
It was never difficult for me to visualize my surroundings, the lush green grass that felt so cool to the touch. Tall trees swaying gently in the breeze with Dad describing the flowers and Mom describing other things around me.
Those were times when there was not really anything for me to worry about. Mom, Dad, and Granny took care of everything. Family times were so near and dear to me and those gardens held such special times for me. Ah, yes! Those were the days!
