Thank goodness for 2 wonderful Air Canada agents: Luggage delay

This is exactly what it was like when I returned from Montreal in May 2024!

I arrived back at Terminal 1 on an Air Canada flight and I had to wait for quite some time to get my luggage.
Thank goodness for the wonderful Air Canada agents who stood beside me and used their app to let me know that yes! My luggage had arrived but it was a matter of now finding it.

We did find it after all!

Making things easier: Seeking a unique luggage tag

When it comes down to reality, the majority of air passengers are guilty of having black suitcases and bags. As a result, it is often difficult for agents assisting me to locate mine but truth be told, they have done a super

job for me.

True it is that they can spot my suitcases based on the tags that have been placed there at check in but I can be doing more to make things easier for them.

So, recently, I bought some bright red maple leaf tags and attached them to the handle of my suitcases. I hope that this will help the next time I travel.

Traveling challenges: In search of my luggage

This is probably one of the most difficult challenges for me whenever I travel and there is no getting away from it: I need to depend on sighted assistance to help me out.

This usually comes in the form of agents helping me to locate and fetch my luggage.  I do my best to ensure that my suitcases are marked in ways that anyone helping me can identify them.  One of my suitcases has a pink Disney tag on it while the other has yellow strips of tape pasted all over it.

I have been told by many baggage agents that many people have black or blue suitcases so, if possible, it is always preferable to have suitcases that are either of a different color or ones that are clearly marked.

I recently bought a luggage locator and I can place the transponder in my suitcase and use the receiver to locate it.  It’s one way to deal with this challenge.
