Farewells are no fun: Driving to the airport

This time I was just so glad that Mom came for the drive. Not sure why I did not think of this before and at the end of it all it worked very well.

I was just so relieved to see that Mom was not as upset this time when I was leaving. We chatted, laughed, and I promised to be back very soon.

I took her hand in mine just before exiting the car and this was a really warm and comforting feeling for me. See you again soon my precious girl!

My 2 favourite gentlemen! Visiting Robs and Dad

I had not visited their graves in a few years and I took the time to do so on my way to the airport. Mom and Moya were in the car with me.

Ramlall drove carefully to both graves. Both Robs and Dad were buried in vaults. I first walked to Robs’s vault and stood for a few minutes holding on to the gates of the vault.  I stood reflecting on him, my big brother, and was not surprised to feel a sense of tremendous loss as I did so. But then I thanked him for all he did for me and then moved on to visit Dad.

I placed my head against dad’s headstone, traced the letters on his headstone with my trembling fingers, and then I gently kissed the headstone before leaving.

That's my marvelous Mom! Happy precious moments on the patio

These are moments that will never die. So very precious when Mom and I can talk together, reflect on the good times, and then I get to help her with her plants.

She looks for our beautiful butterfly Josafine and when she sees her flying gracefully across the patio she tells me and we both rejoice and thank God for our beautiful Jasafine.

Ah yes!  Mom’s patio with its lush garden, fountain, and Josafine  enriching our moments.
